constitute a Review Committee on Industrial Policy, 1997 with

The
terms of reference of the Committee would be as follows :
-
To review
the existing State Industrial Policy, 1997 as regards its
effectiveness during the period of its operation.
-
To compare
both State and Central Industrial Policies and suggest any
special State incentives which will give an edge to
Meghalaya among North East States in respect of enhancing /
encouraging investment in the State.
-
To suggest
thrust areas of industrialization in view of present power
crisis in the State and ways and means to protect
environment degradation, and modify the Incentives
accordingly, so that thrust areas receive greater benefits.
-
To identify
labour intensive industries and provide greater incentives
to them to increase employment.
This cancels this Department's
Notification No. IND.22/97/148, Dt. 3-11-97.
